Bhimili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao has asked the authorities concerned to organise the Bhimili High School centenary celebrations in a grand manner.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao attended the preparatory meeting for the conduct of the centenary celebrations held at the school premises on Tuesday. He said there are just a few high schools which have completed 100 years and Bhimili High School stands out as one among them. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent his message for the souvenir to be released during the centenary celebrations.
The MLA said HRD Minister Nara Lokesh would be invited as the chief guest for the two-day celebrations starting on February 1. Mr. Srinivasa Rao asked the school authorities and alumni to complete the beautification works at the earliest as the centenary day was nearing.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao said his friends have come forward to donate money for the completion of pending works pertaining to toilets, school rooms and other buildings and asked the authorities to speed up the works. He said the School Alumni Association should be activated and take up more development works. Mr. Srinivasa Rao said the Andhra University Alumni database, which was started when he was the HRD Minister, now has the data of more than two lakh students.
On the occasion, Mr. Srinivasa Rao, along with District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad, launched the logo of the centenary celebrations.
