The next round of bi-annual Director General level talks between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) will be held in Delhi from February 16 to 20, the first time after the regime change in the neighbouring country, a government official said.

The talks that were previously slated to be held in October 2024 were postponed due to the ongoing political situation in Bangladesh. The bi-annual talks were last held in Dhaka.

Fencing of border areas, trans-border crimes, and coordinated patrolling will be on the agenda of the talks, the official said. The BSF is also likely to raise the issue of attacks on minorities in the neighbouring country.

Maj. Gen. Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, DG, BGB will hold the talks with BSF DG Daljit Singh Chawdhary.
